Tiger and Bear, 1914, from a set of Zoological Society of London pics on the Guardian. I love the way old photos like this look; their bluriness and lack of definition lend them a sense of presence a lot of modern pictures lack. It’s something you see a lot in early 20th Century photography. See also: Jaques Henri Lartigue.
